Well, where to start I’m a 21 (That age will always be correct thanks to a little PHP.) year old aspiring game developer from Pennsylvania. I’ve wanted to make games since I was about 5. Before wanting to make games I would say I wanted to be the obvious things kids say, an Astronaut and a Fire Fighter. That all changed when my dad brought home a NES one day. Sadly, I can’t say I’m one of those old school gamers since I went from NES to Sega Genesis to N64 and then to PS2. Yes, scream and rage at me for skipping the Super Nintendo you know you want to. Currently I play pretty much every platform be it the PS3, 360, Wii or PC.

I started trying to make my first game when I was about 13 I was playing a game Shadow Worlds when one day I was mining and someone came up to me and told me he makes games and that he was just checking out this game. He later said that if I were to get him a sword that he would let me help. Surely I didn’t pass up this opportunity and I went hunting zombies in the graveyard since they dropped swords. I was pretty much a noob and he did all the programming I just logged in and used the in game map editor. I have since lost contact with Balmung (his name was a .hack reference) the only trace I can find of him really is this post. We originally started working with an engine called Konfuze which was a spin-off of Mirage Source. Apparently Mirage was a game being created using VB6 but someone stole the source and it went public. The owner tried to sue but he lost his case, there was a post on his site that had a link to the source with him raging. After a while Balmung started creating his own version of Mirage Source. He called it TORPGE (Twilight Online Role Playing Game Engine – twilight being another .hack reference.) I forget what he called the game we were making with the new engine but it never got finished. I found a copy of the engine here for anyone that interested in looking at it.

After I lost contact with Balmung I tried using various revisions of Mirage Source to start working on my own game. I never really made it far at all I would run the server on my computer and play the game by myself. I think I had a friend connect and try it out once.

Eventually I stumbled upon vbGore and thought it was the best thing ever made. Although once I attempted to use it, I got lost and it didn’t seem to work at all. I went back to playing with Mirage spin-offs like Eclipse I didn’t ever edit the engines though but I did mess with sadscript a bit (one of the engines used it). About a year later I went back to messing with vbGore I again got confused but this time I stuck with it and bugged the crap out of everyone there. Eventually I got the engine up and running. I continued to work with that engine until I was about 16 I pretty much figured out everything worked far later than most people. Thanks to Spodi, Darkfrost, Skye, Kyori, gutterpunk, bakekitsune, Zanval and everyone else at vbGore that helped me back then.

During my time at vbGore I made the Arch Games website for the first time. I jumped around from a few free web hosts that offered free subdomains. But eventually came the time to get my own domain. I found that there was someone else on vbGore named Bortix who was also looking to set up his own site and together we pitched in for hosting. The site is still hosted on those same servers.

Later Spodi started working on another engine in C# called NetGore I tried to help him a bit when he was looking for a team but I don’t think I was all that useful, while I may have known how vbGore worked I had no clue how his new engine worked and I was unfamiliar with C#. I checked the bug tracker from time to time and tried to fix/add a lot of things listed there but I only think I ever committed one of the issues and Spodi helped me with it. I by far spent most of my time on the vbGore website throughout high school if you were to go to the vbGore website I had 3842 posts second only to Spodi himself. The last thing I did before I stopped messing with vbGore was a right click menu I continued to hang around the forum and answered a lot of questions though. Later I moved to the NetGore forums but I haven’t visited there much lately.

Besides games and computers I also enjoy a few other things the most notable being Anime. I’ve watched a few series although not as much as a lot of others. The main ones being Inuyasha (the first anime I ever saw), Dragon Ball Z, then Ghost in a Shell. Currently I’m watching Bleach and Death Note. I like paintball as well but I’ve only ever done it a few times.

I graduated from High School in 2009 and have since been looking into various possibilities about what I want to do. I’ve looked into the military and a lot of schools but am really unsure what I should do. I found a website GameCareerGuide not to long ago and I took a lot of their advice it’s part of the reason I remade the site.

Anyway, that’s who I am. If you have any questions for me feel free to send me a PM on the forum, make a post in general chat or just a comment here I guess.
